The ZF 8HP oil pan, which is required for the transmission oil change of ZF 8HP transmission, is a plastic oil pan with integrated oil filter, gasket and screw plug. Also required for the transmission oil change, in addition to the ZF 8HP oil pan, is a suitable transmission oil - for ZF 8HP transmissions, the ZF LifeGuard 8 automatic transmission oil is recommended; alternatively, the RAVENOL ATF 8HP Fluid can also be used - both automatic transmission oils can be found here on ATO24.de.
According to the manufacturer, a transmission oil change for ZF automatic transmissions should take place every 100,000 kilometers or after 8 years at the latest. However, depending on driving style and individual driving profile - like for instance frequent driving at high speeds - shorter change intervals are advisable as the transmission oil ages faster at high operating temperatures than under normal conditions.
