The Mercedes-Benz AdBlue 10 L is a synthetically produced, water-clear solution of demineralized water and high-purity urea which can be used for all cars, vans and trucks with diesel engines to reduce the nitrogen oxide content of exhaust gases. The urea solution is injected into the exhaust system during combustion and thus ensures efficient after-treatment of the exhaust gases.

| Application | AdBlue is added to your car via a separate tank designed for this purpose and is used for exhaust aftertreatment and reduction of nitrogen oxide levels. The SCR process (selective catalytic reduction) used here heats the Ad Blue mixture and the exhaust gases. The ammonia thus released then reacts with the nitrogen oxides and converts them into harmless water vapour and nitrogen by means of chemical processes. For Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a urea water solution in accordance with the requirements of ISO 22241 must be used. AdBlue is an original OEM product from Mercedes-Benz. AdBlue is not toxic to humans, but can irritate eyes, skin and respiratory tract on contact. The urea should therefore be rinsed off immediately with water. It should also be noted that the solution attacks paints and plastic parts and should therefore also be washed off with water. |
